Knife-Wielding Man Caught in Cambridge Park

Stephen Gervis, 39, caused chaos in Cambridge’s Parkers Piece on 8 November. An off-duty special constable spotted him pushing and shoving a man and a woman before CCTV caught him pulling a three-inch kitchen knife and stabbing a man.

Fast Arrest, Fast Justice

Firearms officers swooped and arrested Gervis at the scene. He appeared at Peterborough Crown Court on 15 December and was jailed for 12 months and four weeks after pleading guilty to common assault and threatening with a bladed weapon in public.

Police Take Domestic Abuse Seriously

PC Matthew Walshe said: “Gervis publicly assaulted his then-partners and drew a knife on two men who tried to intervene. Safeguarding victims of domestic abuse will always be a priority for Cambridgeshire Constabulary and this case shows that those who continue to pose a danger can expect a prison sentence.”
