Teen Charged With Murder After Brutal Lea Bridge Road Stabbing
18-Year-Old Marvin Ward Faces Court Over Fatal Attack
Marvin Ward, 18, from Westwood Road, Ilford, is set to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 22 March. He was charged on Sunday, 21 March, with the murder of fellow teen Hussain Chaudhry.
Multiple Charges Including Attempted Murder and Robbery
Ward faces additional charges of two counts of attempted murder. The victims, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s, suffered slash wounds during the attack. He is also charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
Fatal Stabbing in East London
Police and London Ambulance Service rushed to Lea Bridge Road near Grove Road junction at 5.20pm on 17 March after reports of a stabbing. Sadly, 18-year-old Hussain was pronounced dead at the scene, suffering a fatal stab wound to the neck that caused hypovolemic shock, according to post-mortem results.
Victims Treated and Released
- The two other victims, both relatives of Hussain, were hospitalised with slash injuries to their hands.
- Both have since been discharged following treatment in an East London hospital.
