Young man in drug haul chase on A303
A 22-year-old man faces serious drug charges after a high-speed police pursuit on Hampshire’s A303.
Police chase ends in arrest
The man was arrested last Thursday night near Micheldever after the vehicle he was in failed to stop for police. He is charged with four offences involving heroin and crack cocaine supply, including possession with intent to supply.
Operation Monument cracks down on county lines
The arrest came during a proactive Met Police investigation, Operation Monument, targeting a suspected county line running between London and Andover.
Court dates set amid ongoing probe
The defendant appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court on Saturday (20 March) and was remanded in custody. He is due back at Southampton Crown Court on 19 April for a pre-trial hearing.
Second suspect released under investigation
A 30-year-old London woman was also arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. She has since been released under investigation as inquiries continue.
