Woman Seriously Injured in Balby Hit-and-Run by Ford Transit
Hit-and-Run Shocker on Littlemoor Lane
At around 9:10am, chaos erupted on Littlemoor Lane in Balby when a white Ford Transit tipper reportedly hit a 76-year-old woman while reversing. Witnesses say the driver and passenger spotted the injured woman on the ground but fled the scene immediately.
Suspects Caught, Charges Laid
Police tracked down the vehicle shortly after and arrested two men. The 38-year-old driver faces multiple charges, including theft of a motor vehicle, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and failing to stop after a collision. He has since been released under investigation.
A 56-year-old passenger was also arrested for perverting the course of justice and remains in custody.
Victim’s Condition and Appeal for Witnesses
The elderly woman is currently receiving treatment at Hallamshire Hospital for serious brain and pelvic injuries.
