Teenage Drug Mules Used in Shocking Devon Cocaine and Heroin Ring
Omorie Nixon, 20, ran a ruthless drug operation using teenage boys to smuggle cocaine and heroin into Devon. The teens carried drugs inside their bodies, risking serious health dangers while ferrying the deadly stash.
Sentenced to Nearly 11 Years After Appeal
Originally sentenced to 7 years and 9 months at Exeter Crown Court on 28 January, Nixon’s jail term was slammed as too lenient. On 30 March, the Court of Appeal ramped up his sentence to a hefty 10 years and 9 months behind bars.
Attorney General Slams Nixon’s Exploitation of Teenagers
“Nixon was part of a highly organised drugs operation which exploited young teenagers. The original sentence failed to take proper account of the seriousness of the offences and the harm drugs can do to people’s lives. I am pleased the Court has now seen fit to increase the prison term.”
