Leeds Man Jailed for Firearm Possession and Robberies

Levi Paterson, from Leeds, has been locked up for four years after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm and multiple robberies. Leeds Crown Court handed down a three-year sentence on April 1 for firearm possession, following his earlier guilty plea at Leeds Magistrates Court in October 2020. On top of that, Paterson received two concurrent 12-month sentences for two separate robberies committed in 2019.

Gun Found in Shed Leads to Arrest

West Yorkshire Police recovered the firearm in September 2020 from a shed at a property in Servia Gardens, Leeds. Paterson was arrested the following month after forensic evidence linked him to the weapon.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are investigating whether the firearm is connected to other recent crimes in the West 1 area.

Police Warn: Gun Crime Won’t Be Tolerated

“We welcome the sentencing of this male today after he admitted the possession of a lethal weapon recovered by officers in September last year,” said DCI Vanessa Rolfe.

“This sentence sends a clear message. Anyone involved with firearms offences will face prison. Handle an illegal gun and expect to be caught and prosecuted.”

West Yorkshire Police stress they won’t hesitate to track down and punish those involved in gun crime at any level.
