Met Police Detective Caught with Child Abuse Images
DC Paul Allgood, 60, a detective attached to the Met’s Economic Crime Unit, pleaded guilty to six shocking offences at Wood Green Crown Court on Thursday, 8 April. He admitted three counts of making or possessing indecent images of children and three counts of outraging public decency.
Raid Uncovers Horrific Evidence
On 4 June 2019, officers from the Online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Unit (OCSAE) raided Allgood’s home in Enfield. They seized 20 devices, including laptops, USB sticks, and hard drives.
After thorough analysis, five devices were found to contain indecent images of children. Allgood was arrested at the scene and later charged on 23 November 2020.
Suspended and Awaiting Sentence
Following his arrest, Allgood was released on conditional bail pending investigation but was suspended from all police duties in January 2021. He is set to return to Wood Green Crown Court on 25 May for sentencing.
