Dangerous Mastiff Attacks Puppy in Maidstone
Police are hunting witnesses after a brown-grey mastiff went on the attack in Maidstone, leaving a beagle puppy and its owner injured.
Attack on Tonbridge Road
The incident unfolded at around 5.45pm on Tuesday, 6 April 2021, near the junction of Tonbridge Road and Bower Place. The mastiff, walked on a lead by a man and a woman, allegedly bit the beagle puppy, which was also on a lead.
The puppy’s owner tried to intervene but was hurt in the struggle. The mastiff’s handlers then fled the scene.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“There were a number of people in the area at the time,” said PC Nathan Weller. “We want anyone who saw what happened or knows who owns the mastiff to get in touch. We also want to speak to two members of the public who helped the victim.”
