Blaze Destroys Stables in Upminster – Two Horses Die
Chaos hit Hall Lane in Upminster as a fierce fire tore through a single-storey stable block early this morning.
Massive Fire Response
Six fire engines and about 40 firefighters rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised at 4.39am. Fire crews from Harold Hill, Hornchurch, Romford, and Dagenham battled the blaze, bringing it under control by 5.46am.
Tragic Loss for Local Horses
Before the firefighters arrived, a quick-thinking stable staff member managed to lead one horse to safety. Sadly, two horses were not so lucky and died in the blaze.
Cause of Fire Still Unknown
Authorities are now investigating what sparked the devastating fire that destroyed the entire stables.
