Drug Dealer Darren Hector Slapped with £42,000 Bill After Jail Sentence
Darren Hector, 43, from Apsley, has been slammed with a £42,000 repayment order following his jail sentence for violent drug offences. The Proceeds of Crime Act crackdown has stripped him of ill-gotten gains after a violent spree and high-speed police chase.
Seven Years Behind Bars for Brutal Attacks and Drugs
Back in August 2020 at Luton Crown Court, Hector was locked up for seven years and three months. He pleaded guilty to:
- Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) without intent
- Actual Bodily Harm (ABH)
- Possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine and crack)
- Possession of Class B drug (cannabis resin)
- Dangerous driving
- Possession of criminal property
His violent attack on two police officers during a high-speed pursuit sealed his fate.
£42,000 Seized – Crime Does Not Pay, Say Police
“Darren Hector has already had assets of more than £6,000 seized and now following financial investigations under the Proceeds of Crime Act, he has been ordered to repay £41,932.38,” said Detective Constable Joel Gill of Hemel Hempstead Local Crime Unit.
“This highlights that crime certainly does not pay. Not only will criminals serve time, but we will also take their criminal profits.”
“We rely on members of the public to give us vital information to help protect our community. Any tip, no matter how small, could make a difference.”
