Harrogate Man Accused of Sexual Touching 11-Year-Old Girl After School

Police are hunting a man who sexually touched an 11-year-old girl making her way home from school in Harrogate. The horrific incident happened on Tuesday, 25 May 2021, at about 3.15pm on Kings Road near the Chatsworth Grove junction.

Chilling Attack on Schoolgirl

The victim was walking home when the suspect approached from behind. He placed one hand on her hip and another on her waist, then made a lewd comment. Terrified, the girl fled and arrived home shaken and upset.

Distinctive Suspect Description

  • White male, around 40 years old
  • Height approx. 5’8”
  • Dark greying hair, short on one side, longer on the other
  • Distinctive mole above right eyebrow
  • Wearing red jumper, khaki trousers, and black Nike trainers with white laces
  • Spoke with rough Yorkshire accent

Police Urge Locals to Come Forward

Sergeant Alex Sellars of Harrogate Neighbourhood Policing said: “This is a disturbing incident that has left the victim very shaken. She was brave in giving us a detailed description.”

He added: “The area would have been busy with parents and children at that time. If you were on the school run or passing by, please recall your journey and check any dash-cam footage for a man matching this description.”

Police reassure the public that incidents like this are rare in North Yorkshire and urge everyone to take simple safety steps — such as walking in groups, using well-lit routes, and telling someone your plans.
