Tragic Crash: Police Car Hits Woman in Stockwell
Officers rushed to Stockwell Road, SW9, just after 11.20pm on Wednesday, June 9, following a collision between a marked police vehicle on an emergency call and a 25-year-old female pedestrian.
Emergency Crews Battle to Save Victim
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance treated the woman at the scene. Sadly, despite their desperate efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Next of kin have been informed,” police confirmed.
Road Closures and Official Investigations Underway
- Traffic diversions are in place around Brixton Road, Stockwell Road, and Landor Road.
- Police cordons remain active at the crash site.
- The Directorate of Professional Standards has been notified, as standard.
- The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is now leading an independent probe into the fatal collision.
