Scottish Football Fan Seriously Injured After Hotel Rampage and Sixth-Floor Fall at Wembley
A Scottish football fan’s trip to watch England vs Scotland ended in chaos and serious injury. After trashing a hotel room, the man plunged from a sixth-floor window of a four-star hotel in West London, leaving paramedics and police scrambling.
Drama Unfolds at Corus Hotel, Lancaster Gate
The incident happened late Friday night at the Corus Hotel near Hyde Park. Police and London Ambulance Service were called after staff reported a man throwing items from a window.
The fan, thought to be 27, had been staying with a friend in a £180-a-night room on the sixth floor. One source said the room was badly damaged after a day of heavy drinking.
Serious Injuries and Arrest
Officers found the man injured after his fall and gave first aid before paramedics took him to St Mary’s Hospital’s major trauma unit.
He was arrested on suspicion of affray. Police confirmed the man also had injuries to his hands.
Companion Booted from Hotel
The friend sharing the room was asked to leave and find alternative accommodation. Police spent hours questioning hotel staff and the manager as a crime scene was set up.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at around 9.40pm on Friday, 18 June, to a male throwing items from the window of a hotel in Lancaster Gate, W2. Officers attended and detained a 27-year-old man after he fell from a window. He was arrested on suspicion of affray.”
