Man in Mental Health Crisis Rescued After Overnight Dagenham Drama
A man facing a serious mental health crisis was safely rescued following a marathon emergency response at a home in Heathway, Dagenham, on Friday, 13 June.
Emergency Crews Called at 10am
The Metropolitan Police were alerted at 10:01am by London Ambulance Service amid worries for the man’s wellbeing. What followed was a lengthy, delicate operation lasting well into the night.
Overnight Standoff Ends at Dawn
Officers stayed on scene round the clock, working closely with mental health experts to bring the situation under control without incident. The man was finally taken to hospital at 3:22am on Saturday. Police confirmed no one was harmed during the ordeal.

“This was a delicate situation requiring careful management over many hours,” a spokesperson said. “We’re pleased the individual was brought to safety and is now receiving the help he needs.”
No arrests were made. Police ruled out suspicious circumstances.
