Armed officers from Kent Police were rushed to a Cliftonville street just before 11pm after reports a man was armed with a gun. Tensions boiled over when a dispute between two men spilled into the open, triggering a lockdown in the area.
Bus Evacuated Amid Firearms Incident
The threat of gun violence forced police to evacuate a bus, with the driver and passengers ordered to leave immediately. Authorities quickly declared the situation a firearms incident, sealing off Arthur Road and nearby streets including Northdown Road with a police cordon.
Man in 70s Tasered and Arrested
Residents claim a man in his seventies was tasered twice by officers before being arrested at the scene. So far, Kent Police have yet to release full details of the incident but have been approached for comment.
