Paedophile Groomer Jailed After Sick Online Hunt for Kids

Robert Reddin, 70, was busted in his St Mary’s Bay home in Romney Marsh back in 2018. Kent Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team swooped after uncovering indecent images of children and sickening messages Reddin sent to people he thought were underage.

Shocking Chats with ‘Kids’ Exposed

Police raided Reddin’s home on 11 June 2018, seizing a laptop loaded with indecent photos. Delving deeper, investigators found disturbing chats where Reddin encouraged those claiming to be as young as 11 to perform sexual acts, send explicit pictures, and even arrange meet-ups.

At Maidstone Crown Court on 30 June 2021, Reddin pleaded guilty to multiple charges including attempting to arrange a child sex offence and inciting children to take part in sexual activity. He was locked up for four and a half years. On release, he faces a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order restricting his internet access.

“He is clearly a danger to children, preying on the vulnerable online, where the risk to such children is significant,” said Detective Sergeant Shona Ross, the lead investigator.

“The internet is not some other world – real children suffer real abuse. Kent Police, alongside partner agencies, will keep hunting down those who try to exploit the most vulnerable.”
