Drunk Rampage at Sports Bar Ends in Jail for Charlotte Marsh-Jones
Charlotte Marsh-Jones, 21, from Trowbridge, has been jailed for over four years after attacking a door staff member with a glass at a local bar. The brutal assault left the victim with a deep, 5-inch wound across her cheek, ear, and neck.
Glass Attack in Female Toilets
The violent episode unfolded on the night of 29 November 2019 at The Sports Bar on Castle Street. Trouble began when a customer found two people inside the female toilets cubicle and raised the alarm. Staff discovered Marsh-Jones heavily intoxicated and vomiting inside.
After being confronted, Marsh-Jones lunged violently at a female door staff member, smashing a glass into her face and neck. Door staff intervened and held Marsh-Jones until police arrived to make an arrest.
Four Years and Three Months Behind Bars
Swindon Crown Court found Marsh-Jones guilty of grievous bodily harm. On 30 July, she was sentenced to four years and three months in prison.
Detective Constable Simon Rogers said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a member of door staff who received serious injuries. When asked to leave, Marsh-Jones deliberately struck the victim with a glass.”
“The victim bravely managed to detain her despite the serious injury. This was a traumatic incident for all involved. The victim and witnesses provided vital evidence.”
“Her colleagues did a fantastic job administering first aid before the police arrived. Violence like this will not be tolerated. I welcome the sentence passed by the courts.”
