Violent Attacks Rock Dartford to Charing Cross Trains
Two shocking assaults broke out on trains running between Dartford and Charing Cross last Saturday, September 11, causing chaos during the evening rush hour.
First Attack: Woman Kicked and Bottled on Dartford-Bound Train
The first brutal incident happened at 5.45pm. A woman boarding at Slade Green found herself targeted after asking a noisy group of passengers to quiet down.
One thug threatened her and barged into her. When she tried to escape to another carriage, the gang followed – kicking her in the head and smashing glass bottles over her. She managed to get off safely at Erith station, where fellow passengers gave first aid before hospital treatment. The attackers remained on the London-bound train.
Second Assault: Couple Attacked with Wine Bottle Near Belvedere
Less than two hours later, shortly before 7pm, a couple were verbally abused by strangers on the same route. Suddenly, a woman from the group launched a brutal attack on the female victim with a wine bottle.
The rest of the gang then viciously beat the couple. Other passengers rushed to help, pulling the victims to safety, but several helpers were also assaulted. The couple exited the train at Belvedere station and were treated in hospital for facial and head injuries. The attackers stayed on board.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Information
Officers believe people pictured in CCTV could hold vital clues to cracking these cases.
