Skirting Board Disaster on Whitewall Road Sparks Police Action
A driver in his 30s from Chatham caused a road hazard after hauling long skirting boards dangerously from his car in Rochester.
Load Falls Out in Broad Daylight
Officers on patrol spotted the materials sticking out of the front passenger window on Whitewall Road at around 11am. When they tried to pull the vehicle over, two pieces of skirting board dropped onto the road, forcing the officers to stop and collect them.
Inside the vehicle, the driver was carrying several pieces of skirting board, ranging from three to five feet long. The load was woefully unsecured, with one end dangling into live traffic.
Driver Hit with Traffic Offence and Vehicle Seized
The man was slapped with a Traffic Offence Report for using a vehicle on the road with an unsafe load that posed a risk of injury. To make matters worse, his car was found untaxed and was promptly seized by kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="6470">Kent Police.
