A man has been airlifted to hospital after he was stabbed a number of times inside a shop we can reveal
Police were called with Paramedics following the attack on Beulah Road in Thornton Heath.
A crime scene cordon has been set up outside the Beulah Corner Express convenience store and an attempted murder investigation has been launched
The London Air Ambulance landed in the grounds Beulah Road Infant School.
The man was treated at the scene and understood to be in a critical condition.
A spokesman for the Met Police said: Police were called at approximately 3.35pm on Saturday, 8 January to reports of a stabbing in Beulah Road, Thornton Heath.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, believed aged in his 20s, suffering stab injuries. He has been taken to a south London hospital for treatment; he remains there in a critical condition.
A man – no further details – was arrested near to the scene on suspicion of GBH with intent; enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.
