Massive Blaze Tears Through Fifth Floor Flat in East London Tower
Firefighters Battle Fierce Flat Fire
Emergency crews raced to a huge fire ripping through a five-room flat on the fifth floor of an eight-storey block late Thursday night. The London Fire Brigade was flooded with 23 calls reporting the blaze, which broke out just after 11pm.
Multiple Fire Stations Join the Fight
Firefighters from East Ham, Plaistow, Barking, Poplar, Stratford and nearby stations launched a full-scale operation to tackle the flames. The fire gutted much of the fifth floor, causing severe damage to several properties.
Hours to Bring Fire Under Control
It took nearly three hours for crews to get the well-developed fire under control. The cause remains a mystery and is currently under investigation by authorities.
