Leeds Bus Station Part-Shut After Early Morning Stabbing

A man in his 40s was stabbed at Leeds Bus Station this morning, sparking a police investigation.

Attack Sparks Partial Closure, No Bus Delays

Police rushed to the scene at 6.49am on Thursday, 13 July, after reports of a stabbing at the York Street entrance. The victim was found with multiple stab wounds and taken to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening.

Part of the bus station foyer and the York Street entrance have been closed off while officers probe the incident. The rest of the station remains open with no impact on bus services.

Police Appeal for Witnesses to Come Forward

Detective Sergeant Andy Greatorex of Leeds District CID said: “We understand this incident will cause concern for those who use the bus station and the wider community. Our investigation is in its early stages, but initial enquiries suggest the victim and suspect know each other and this was a targeted attack.

“I urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or saw the incident to contact Leeds District CID to help with our enquiries.”
