North Kent Police Crack Down on Law-Breaking Drivers
Police are stepping up their game in Dartford, Gravesham, Medway, and Swale with a major crackdown on dodgy drivers and criminal activity on the roads. The operation, launched in October 2022, sees officers conducting frequent roadside checks to catch offenders red-handed.
Roadside Checks Target Drink, Drug, and Illegal Driving
Dedicated patrols will hunt down anyone driving under the influence, using unroadworthy vehicles, or breaking the law in any other way. Officers won’t hesitate to take robust action against anyone caught flouting the rules.
Stop and Search Powers Hit Criminals on the Move
Police are also targeting criminals coming into the area, using stop and search powers to seize any weapons or illegal items found. So far, the operation has been active in Dartford and Swale, making residents feel safer with a stronger police presence.
Insp Jamie Little, North Kent Local Policing Team, said: “This operation will see an increased police presence which I hope reassures residents across north Kent that we are not just responding to reports but actively patrolling across the districts as well.”
“Law abiding motorists have nothing to be concerned about; we are only interested in those drivers who willingly use vehicles to break the law. Roadside checks will be in place at various times in different locations and those found to be committing offences will be dealt with appropriately and proportionately.”
