Teen Thief Nabbed in Cross-County Car Crime Crackdown
James Cross, 19, from Selbys in Lingfield, was arrested on 25 January following a major police operation targeting a spate of car thefts across Surrey, Kent, and Sussex.
Guilty Plea for Stealing Quad, Audi, and More
Cross appeared at Guildford Crown Court on 8 March, where he admitted stealing four vehicles — including a quad bike, an Audi, a Ford Transit van, and a Range Rover — as well as handling stolen goods. Police recovered all vehicles except the quad bike.

“This is a great example of a successful joint operation between Surrey, Sussex and Kent. Through cross-border working we are able to target and combat those offenders who cause harm and distress to the local community,” said PC Newman.
