Police Chase Ends with Arrest After Milton Regis Burglary Attempt
Kent Police sprang into action after a business window was smashed on Milton Regis High Street at around 10.15pm on Monday, 7 March 2022.
Suspicious Vehicle Sparks Dramatic Pursuit
Officers patrolling nearby soon spotted a suspicious car at 11.35pm and signalled the driver to stop. The vehicle ignored police orders and sped off, sparking a high-speed chase.
42-Year-Old Held and Charged After Crash
The chase ended in Basser Hill, Lower Halstow, where the driver was finally caught and arrested. George Bignall, 42, from Middletune Avenue, Sittingbourne, faces multiple charges including:
- Attempted burglary
- Dangerous driving
- Failing to stop for police
- Driving without a valid licence
- Failing to provide a blood sample
Bignall appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on 19 March and was remanded to Maidstone Crown Court, with a hearing set for 7 April.
