Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a tumble dryer alight at a house in Harold Avenue, Gillingham – UKNIP

Two fire engines attended and crews wore breathing apparatus while using hose reel jets and high pressured fans to extinguish the flames.  No casualties were reported.  It’s believed the fire started accidentally when the tumble dryer overheated.  The resident had closed the internal doors to the conservatory, where the appliance was kept, which helped to limit the spread of smoke throughout the rest of the home.
