Three Men Jailed for Brutal Burglary on Disabled Pensioner
Amos Vincent, Amos Beaney, and William Dennard have been locked up after a shocking plot saw a vulnerable, disabled pensioner held down and her home ransacked in Swanscombe.
Gruesome Attack Inside Victim’s Home
On 17 September 2021, Dennard drove the gang to the victim’s address. Vincent and Beaney knocked on her door, claiming a nearby car was linked to a burglary. They asked for pen and paper, then pushed their way inside. Suddenly, Vincent grabbed the elderly woman and forced her to the floor, wrapping his arms around her so tightly she struggled to breathe. While she was restrained, Beaney rifled through the house, stealing valuables.
The terrified woman, in her 70s, was left in pain but managed to crawl to a chair and call 999. Police discovered her handbag missing, along with cash and bank cards.
CCTV and Witnesses Crack the Case
Police uncovered CCTV footage showing a suspicious van driven by Dennard near the scene. A witness spotted two men acting oddly and putting on gloves near the victim’s home.
Beaney, 31, of Wateringbury, and Dennard, 55, from Dartford, were arrested on 30 September. Vincent, 39, was caught a few weeks later on 11 October. Phone forensics confirmed the trio planned the burglary together.
Court Sends the Thugs Down
At Woolwich Crown Court, Vincent and Beaney pleaded guilty to burglary and robbery, while Dennard admitted burglary and a separate charge of dangerous driving.
On 10 March 2022, Vincent and Beaney were sentenced to six years behind bars each. Dennard received four years.
PC Emma Laimbeer of the Chief Constable’s Crime Squad said: “The cowardly actions of Vincent, Beaney and Dennard were clearly premeditated and utterly despicable. They preyed on a vulnerable and elderly woman, causing terror and lifelong distress. Our investigation proved their roles beyond doubt. I hope these sentences offer some comfort and reassurance to the victim.”
