Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at a flat in High Street, in Broadstairs, Thanet.
Three fire engines attended and crews wore breathing apparatus while using main jets and hose reel jets to extinguish the flames, before using a high pressured fan to clear the first floor property of smoke.
Crews gave oxygen to one person who was suffering from suspected smoke inhalation, before passing them into the care of SECAmb.
No cause is not yet known.
