Hit-and-Run Shocker on Staniforth Road
On Friday night at 9.40pm, chaos unfolded on Staniforth Road. A blue Volkswagen Golf smashed into a 25-year-old man crossing the road.
Driver Flees but Returns
The 20-year-old driver fled the scene but quickly came back when police arrived. He was arrested for causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene. He has since been released under investigation.
Victim Seriously Injured
The pedestrian suffered a head injury and multiple fractures. He was rushed to hospital by ambulance, where he remains in a critical condition.
Police Call for Witnesses and Dash-Cam Footage
Officers want anyone who saw the collision or has dash-cam footage to come forward. If you have information, call 101 with incident number 1089 of 8 April 2022.
