Julius Mkhwanazi, South Africa’s suspended police boss, found himself in deep hot water this week — and not just because of corruption charges. The top cop was grilled over graft, misconduct, and political interference. But it was his dripping sweat that stole the show before he even opened his mouth.
Tissue Pops Off Forehead in Courtroom Blunder
Mkhwanazi was sweating buckets during the hearing. So much so, the tissue he used to mop his shiny bald head stuck stubbornly to his forehead. The courtroom couldn’t look away as it hung there like a bizarre forehead badge.
“Oh, you have a tissue stuck on your forehead,” quipped Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, pausing proceedings to point it out.
The cop awkwardly peeled it off, muttering, “It’s because I’m sweating.” Well, that was obvious.
Corruption Charges Trigger Sweaty Scene
Mkhwanazi’s troubles started after a November 2025 probe accused him of abusing power and rigging illegal promotions. Anyone facing such explosive allegations would be nervous — but to also have your sweat betray you in such a public way? That’s a PR nightmare.
What Lies Ahead for the Sweaty Cop?
With court battles heating up and the world watching, Mkhwanazi’s future looks grim. One consolation: at least he’s not dodging questions like some royals. Yet.
