Blaze Breaks Out at Coventry High-Rise

Five adults and two children were rushed to safety after a fire erupted at Nauls Mill House, a 16-storey block in Coventry, around 8.50pm on Saturday. Another six people, including a child, escaped unaided. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.

Massive Fire Response in Action

West Midlands Fire Service deployed 75 firefighters across 13 engines, with crews from Coventry, Solihull, and Birmingham arriving within two minutes. The blaze, described as “severe” and “very challenging,” spread quickly from the flats to a balcony above.

Evacuations and Aftermath

  • 19 residents were evacuated to a nearby library for safety.
  • West Midlands Ambulance treated four people at the scene for minor injuries.
  • The fire was extinguished just after midnight, with investigations now underway to pinpoint the cause.

“The fire service highlighted the challenging nature of the blaze and praised the swift response from crews,” a spokesperson said.
