Child Injured in Fall at The Needles: Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Drama unfolded at The Needles this evening as emergency crews scrambled to help a child reportedly injured in a fall.
Air Ambulance and Coastguard Race to Rescue
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, and HM Coastguard launched a major response after the incident on Tennyson Down, the island’s westernmost point.
The air ambulance touched down at The Needles Battery shortly before 7pm, with flying doctors and paramedics quickly assessing the child’s condition. The HEMS crew departed from Andover base to get there fast.
Rescue Teams on the Ground
Meanwhile, HM Coastguard sent two teams — one from The Needles and another from Ventnor — to support the ongoing response.
At this stage, the child’s injuries remain unclear as medics work to provide urgent care.
