After a suspicious incident in Aldershot town centre on Monday afternoon, police are looking for witnesses (May 30)
At around 1pm, the incident occurred between Short Street and the Weatherspoons.
According to police a man approached a woman and her little child and continued to try to talk to the child. He also inappropriately touched the child.
He made no attempt to abduct the youngster.
The mother was allowed to depart the area with her child since she was uncomfortable.
Officers are investigating the event and would like to speak with anyone who may have information that can help them.
The man is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall, of average frame, with grey hair and a thick Scottish accent.
Officers from Aldershot detained a 57-year-old man on suspicion of sexual assault as part of their investigation.
He has since been released while being investigated.
