Runcorn Duo Jailed for Flouting Criminal Behaviour Orders – Caught Cruising Together Minutes After Release!
Defiant Pair Break the Rules Straight from Prison
Two notorious troublemakers from Runcorn have landed back behind bars after blatantly breaking a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) that banned them from seeing each other.
Dean Potter, 24, and Callum Pope, 22, were originally locked up for five years in 2019 due to a spree of anti-social behaviour, drug dealing, and threats across the Runcorn area.
Prison Release Turns into Instant Re-Offending
Despite their CBO, Potter had no qualms scooping up Pope from HMP Risley at 10 a.m. on June 10. The pair jumped into Pope’s grey Ford Focus, breaking the strict no-contact rule they were slapped with.
It didn’t take long for the law to catch on. Police spotted the pair driving together on the Daresbury Expressway and hauled them in.
Swift Justice Served in Crewe Magistrates’ Court
- Pope, from Lime Grove, Runcorn, copped an eight-month prison sentence plus a £156 fine.
- Potter, hailing from Victoria Road, Higher Runcorn, received six months behind bars and a £128 surcharge.
“It is beyond belief that Pope would breach the terms of his CBO within minutes of being released from prison by getting a lift home from Potter,” said Chief Inspector Andrew Blizard.
“Despite knowing they were forbidden from associating with each other, they chose to get into a car together. Both men are now imprisoned as a result of their actions.”
The duo’s cheeky stunt shows they haven’t learned their lesson – now they’ll have plenty of time to think about it behind bars.
