Police Are Looking For Witnesses After A Man Was Assaulted In Ashford Town Centre

At around 10.10 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022, a man in his 30s was walking in Station Road, from the train station towards town, when the attack occurred.

Three people turned on their phone lights and followed the victim, shouting at him. Near the Tannery Lane intersection, one suspect approached and punched the victim. The victim attempted to flee, but two boys continued to assault him, causing facial injuries. The victim was able to seek assistance from a passing motorist, who transported him to safety.

The two suspects were thought to be boys between the ages of 16 and 19, and they were accompanied by a girl. One of the boys was white and wore a grey top over his face. The second boy, who was of mixed race, dressed entirely in black and wore a yellow ski mask.

Officers are asking anyone who was in the area and saw anything suspicious to come forward. They’d also like to hear from any motorists with dashcam footage from the area, as well as anyone with private CCTV footage.

Witnesses should contact Kent Police at 01843 222289 and reference case number 07-1588.
