Children Rescued from Danger at Ryde Beach Red Zone

Chaos at Ryde Beach as Kids Get Into Trouble

Ryde Beach Lifeguards, HM Coastguard, and Isle of Wight Ambulance Service rushed to rescue several children who got disoriented in a red-flagged area around midday. The youngsters were caught in a hazardous spot, triggering a serious safety alert.

Secondary Drowning Fears Spark Hospital Run

Paramedics and family members quickly took the children to St Mary’s Hospital over fears of secondary drowning. This dangerous condition can occur after swallowing sea water during distress, making prompt medical attention vital.

Lifeguards Warn Against Risky Harbour Dives

On top of the rescue, lifeguards also stepped in to stop a group of teenagers jumping and diving off the Ryde Harbour wall into shallow water—a recipe for disaster. A Ryde Beach Lifeguards spokesperson issued a stark warning:

“We cannot emphasise enough that no one should swim in Ryde Harbour or near the harbour rocks. It is Red Flagged due to a strong current that will pull swimmers out to sea and toward the pier.”

Swimmers are urged to heed the red flags and steer clear of dangerous areas to avoid life-threatening situations.
