Tragic Fall from Ibiza Hotel Balcony Claims Life of 8-Year-Old Swindon Boy

An eight-year-old boy from Swindon has died after falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Ibiza. The heartbreaking incident unfolded at the Aparthotel Vibra Bay in San Antonio on the evening of 27 May.

Emergency Rush to the Scene

At around 8.30pm, emergency services responded urgently to reports of the young boy’s fall. He suffered severe injuries, including a fractured skull, cerebral oedema, broken jaw, and chest trauma. Despite intensive care treatment, the child tragically passed away in hospital several days later.

School and Community in Mourning

The boy was a pupil at Badbury Park Primary School in Swindon. The school sent a letter to parents on 17 June, revealing the sad news:

“Mrs Dance has had the sad task of informing the pupils of the death of a pupil in Willow Tree class. He was a popular member of the school community and will be missed by everyone who knew him.”

Support is being provided to classmates and staff as they come to terms with the devastating loss.

Official Investigation Underway

Local authorities in Ibiza are treating the fall as a tragic accident. Spanish police have yet to release an official statement, and the exact circumstances remain unclear. The boy’s family is receiving support from British consular officials, with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) aware of the incident.
