Prisoner on the Run After Hospital Trip in West London

A 63-year-old inmate, Graham Gomm, has made a daring escape from custody during a hospital visit in west London.

Escape Sparks Urgent Police Hunt

Gomm, held on remand for burglary offences at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, was taken to Hammersmith Hospital after falling ill. But the prisoner’s health trip took a sharp turn when he vanished from police custody in the early hours of Thursday, 18 July.

Police were alerted at around 1.18am and have launched an urgent search to track him down. Gomm was last spotted wearing a grey T-shirt and grey tracksuit.

“We are actively searching for Graham Gomm and conducting thorough investigations into his escape,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson. “Anyone who spots him or has any information must contact the police immediately.”

Residents are being urged to stay alert and report any suspicious activity. The prison service and hospital are cooperating fully to uncover how Gomm slipped away.
