Man Charged Over Alleged Child Abduction Attempt at Heywood Aldi

Police have charged a 59-year-old man following an attempted child abduction at an Aldi store in Heywood last week.

Suspect Remanded in Custody

Sergejus Paskevicius, from Heywood, has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court today (30 July). He faces charges linked to the alleged attempt, which took place on Saturday 23 July at Aldi on Bradshaw Street.

The probe, led by Rochdale CID detectives in partnership with local neighbourhood officers, has received strong public cooperation. Police thanked the community for their support and urged everyone to avoid posting information or images online that might compromise the case.
