Early Morning Crash in Great Harwood Leaves Passenger Seriously Injured
A Vauxhall Corsa smashed into a tree at 4:45am today (Sunday, Oct 30) on Hyndburn Road, Great Harwood. The car, heading toward Whalley Road, lost control on a bend before the terrifying collision.
Driver Escapes with Minor Injuries
The driver, a man in his 20s from Blackburn, suffered only minor injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Passenger Left Fighting for Life
In contrast, the passenger — also a man in his 20s from Great Harwood — sustained serious injuries and remains in critical condition in hospital.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Sgt Martin Wilcock of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This collision has left a young man with some very serious injuries. I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision, the Corsa moments before the crash, or has dashcam footage, to come forward.”
