Detectives are urgently appealing for witnesses after a terrifying rape on Eastbourne seafront. The assault happened in the early hours of October 23 near the iconic Eastbourne Bandstand on Grand Parade beach.

A young woman is now being supported by specially-trained officers following the horrific attack. Police say they believe this was an isolated incident but are stepping up patrols to reassure the local community.
Man in Dark Hoodie Sought for Questioning
Officers want to trace a white man in his 20s, seen wearing a dark hooded top, who may hold crucial information. Detective Inspector Barry Chandler said:
“While this is an active investigation, we believe this is an isolated incident. We understand the impact on the community and have increased high visibility patrols in the area to reassure residents. Anyone who was near the Bandstand at midnight or shortly after, or has information, is urged to come forward.”
