Attempted Armed Robbery Shakes Saltdean Home
Police are hunting for witnesses after a brazen robbery attempt on a Saltdean house on Saturday evening.
Masked Men Pose as Delivery Drivers
At around 6pm on November 19, a man rang the doorbell of a Brambletyne Avenue home, pretending to be a delivery driver. When the door opened, he and two accomplices forced their way inside.
Armed Suspect Demands Property, Victim Assaulted
One of the intruders, armed with what is believed to be a firearm, threatened the occupants and demanded valuables. An occupant was assaulted before the gang fled empty-handed in a light-coloured vehicle with roof bars.
Suspect Descriptions Released
- Armed man: White, 5’10”, muscular, late 20s to early 30s. Wearing a black sporty hooded jumper with the hood up, dark trousers, black gloves, and dark trainers.
- Second man: Black, around 6’2”, average build, 30s. Dressed in a black sporty hooded jumper with hood up, high-vis jacket, dark trousers, and trainers.
- Third man: White, wearing a light-coloured jacket.
Police Appeal for Dash Cam Footage
“We know there were other vehicles in Brambletyne Avenue between 5.30pm and 6.30pm,” said Detective Inspector Daniel Dugan. “If you have dash cam footage, please come forward. This is an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the wider public.”
