Chaos on Lambeth Bridge as Police Seal Off Busy Road Over Welfare Concern
Bridge Shut Amid Emergency Response
Lambeth Bridge was suddenly taped off this morning after police were called over a “concern for welfare.” The busy London crossing remains closed as officers tackle the unfolding situation.
Specialist Officers on Scene
Responding to the call just after 10.30am on November 30, police dispatched a specialist officer trained in mental health crises to the scene. Alongside five police cars, a van, and dozens of officers, the presence is heavy.
Emergency Services Rally Around
Police boats have also been spotted patrolling the Thames below, signalling just how serious the incident is. Multiple units are gathered at one side of the bridge, keeping a close eye on developments.
The Met Police have been contacted for comment but have yet to issue a statement.
