Firefighters from multiple stations responded to a fire at the Arun Leisure Centre on Felpham Way, Bognor Regis this afternoon.
Fire engines from Bognor, Chichester, Littlehampton, and Selsey, along with the aerial ladder platform from Worthing, were mobilised to the scene.
In an update from the West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, it has been confirmed that the fire has been contained. Crews are currently in the process of damping down remaining hotspots. As a result, the incident is now being scaled down.
The West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service would like to extend their gratitude to the local residents for their patience and cooperation during this incident.
The Arun Leisure Centre will remain closed while officials assess the damage caused by the fire. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
