Royal Parks Police Seizes Delivery Van in Richmond Park for No Insurance – UKNIP

Royal Parks Police took to social media to share an image of a delivery van they had seized in Richmond Park on July 4. The photograph depicted the van parked on the roadside with numerous parcels lying beside it.

According to the tweet, the driver of the van was allegedly found to have no insurance. In order to prevent any potential issues with undelivered packages, the authorities took the decision to seize the vehicle.

The Royal Parks Police tweeted, “If you see lots of parcels at the side of the road in #RichmondPark, it’s because we seized the driver’s van for no insurance and we didn’t want to be responsible for undelivered packages. Parcels should be collected soon.”

In a subsequent tweet, the police clarified that the contents of the vehicle were removed, as is standard practice when a vehicle is seized. They further assured the public that despite the wet weather, the parcels remained undamaged and were promptly collected following the incident.

“When police seize a vehicle, the driver is invited to remove any items from that vehicle, as was done on this occasion. The parcels did not get wet and were collected shortly afterwards,” the tweet confirmed.
