Van Seized in Richmond Park Over No Insurance – Parcels Left Beside Road

Royal Parks Police unearthed a delivery drama in Richmond Park on July 4, snapping a seized van abandoned by the roadside with a pile of parcels dumped beside it.

Driver Nabbed for Driving Without Insurance

The police revealed the driver was caught behind the wheel without valid insurance. To avoid leaving the packages undelivered, officers took the drastic step of impounding the vehicle on the spot.

The force tweeted: “If you see lots of parcels at the side of the road in #RichmondPark, it’s because we seized the driver’s van for no insurance and we didn’t want to be responsible for undelivered packages. Parcels should be collected soon.”

Parcels Safe Despite Wet Weather

In a follow-up, Royal Parks Police assured the public that the parcels were removed from the van as standard procedure. Fortunately, despite the wet weather, the packages escaped damage and were collected quickly after the seizure.

“When police seize a vehicle, the driver is invited to remove any items from that vehicle, as was done on this occasion. The parcels did not get wet and were collected shortly afterwards,” the tweet confirmed.
