Prisoner on the Run: Sean Rainey Vanishes from HMP Sudbury
Another convict has slipped the net at HMP Sudbury. Sean Rainey, also known as Kevin Williams, failed to return from overnight leave at the open prison near Blackpool on Sunday, July 9.

Since May 2022, at least 16 inmates have vanished from the open jail. Rainey, 40, is the latest to disappear, raising fresh concerns about security at the facility.

Rainey is serving a five-year sentence for drug supply offences, convicted at Preston Crown Court in 2021.
Police Urge Public to Help Find Absconder
Derbyshire Constabulary has asked anyone with information about Rainey’s whereabouts to come forward. “Please contact police quoting reference number 23000423589 if you have seen him or know where he is,” they said.
