Early Morning Violence Rocks Gravesend

Kent Police rushed to New Road at 3.36am on Sunday 6 August 2023 following reports of a serious disturbance. Paramedics treated a man onsite for a cut before rushing him to hospital. He was later discharged after receiving treatment.

Arrests Made After Violent Incident

Later that day, officers arrested a suspect on King Street linked to the attack. The following day, 25-year-old Solomon Desbele from Fenners Marsh, Gravesend, was charged with grievous bodily harm and threatening behaviour while carrying an offensive weapon in public. He was remanded in custody ahead of his Medway Magistrates’ Court appearance on Tuesday 8 August.

Two other men, aged 20 and 21, were also arrested for assault on 6 August. The 20-year-old has been bailed until 1 November, while the 21-year-old was released without charge.

Police Launch Witness Appeal

North Kent CID investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Drivers with dashcam footage and residents or businesses with private CCTV are asked to check their recordings for any clues.
