The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Is Quickly Approaching, And It Appears That Everyone Is Doing Something To Commemorate The Historic Occasion

McDonald’s, as proud partners of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant, is also getting in on the action, making some significant changes to classic menu items.

A regal re-recording of their famous jingle, a name change for one beloved burger, and an upgrade to the Big Mac meal packaging are among the changes commemorating Her Majesty’s 70 years of service.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has reimagined the instantly recognisable McDonald’s Jingle to kick off the celebrations.

The ‘Five Note Sting,’ heard at the end of the company’s advertisements and known to millions as “ba da ba ba ba,” has now been made fit for a queen.

The 35-piece ensemble recorded a version with brass, strings, percussion, and woodwind in the hopes of gaining royal approval.

The new jingle will replace the original in the brand’s TV and radio ads during the Jubilee weekend, along with the tagline “one’s lovin’ it.

Dine like a king or queen.

Over the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend, McDonald’s is also giving customers the opportunity to dine like a royal.

There are 70 limited-edition sets available. To be eligible to win, fast food fans must enter the competition through the McDonald’s App between May 31 and June 6, with the lucky winners being announced on June 8.

Royale with Cheddar
McDonald’s will change the name of an iconic burger for the duration of the weekend as part of the Jubilee celebrations.

The famous Quarter Pounder with Cheese will become the ‘Royale with Cheese’ on Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3, paying homage to the infamous scene from Pulp Fiction (“they got the metric system there”) and giving the burger a royal makeover.

The ‘Royale with Cheese’ will be 99p on the McDonald’s App, saving customers £2.60 to kick off a weekend of festivities.

Throughout the rest of the bank holiday weekend, Saturday June 4 and Sunday June 5, McDonald’s will be offering Spend £15 Save £5 on all McDonald’s orders placed through the McDonald’s App.
