Murder Probe Launched After 89-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Croydon
A shocking murder investigation is underway after an 89-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in a Croydon home.
Emergency Called to Thornton Heath Address
Police and paramedics rushed to a residential property on Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath, at around 9.20pm on Tuesday, 21 June. Despite their efforts, the elderly woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Man in 30s Arrested at Separate Croydon Address
A man in his 30s was arrested shortly after the fatal stabbing at another location in Croydon. He remains in police custody as inquiries continue. Police say the victim and suspect are believed to have known each other, but no one else is currently being sought.
Family Notified and Investigation Ongoing
The woman’s family has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Formal identification and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
